With this in mind we've provided below some helpful information and resource links for further reading and study.
The FDA has approved fetal doppler heartbeat monitors for in home use with physician approval. Your physician can also help answer any questions or concerns you might have in using your device.

Diagnostic ultrasound in one of the safest means available for obtaining the necessary information about your unborn baby (or babies). While many test are continually conducted by manufacturers and the U.S. government results in the past have indicted no adverse side effects.
It's important to keep in mind that a fetal doppler is a medical grade device and thus not a toy or to be used solely for entertainment purposes. At Sweet Beats we promote the AIUM's (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine) recommendation of least possible use.
The purpose of a hand-held fetal doppler is to find and confirm the fetal heartbeat by measuring blood flow which should take less than 7 minutes. Therefore we recommend using your doppler no more than 2-3 times weekly for less than 7 minutes per exam.
